This dating advice is so common so I understand why you might think this. But let me ask you. Do you think you would be successful applying to a college if you said that you don’t know what your goals are? Does this make the college administration warm and fuzzy about you? Or if you applied for a job, loan, or just about anything in the world…How much success would you have if you stated that you had no idea why you are applying? I believe the answer to these questions will be No. None of these people would feel confident about entering into a contract with you. What makes you think that a secure man, a man that wants the best for himself, the kind of man that wants a quality relationship, will feel secure giving his heart to someone who doesn’t know what they want?
So, why wouldn’t you express your goals of dating openly and honestly? Why would you hide your desires as if there is something wrong with them? That’s not what confident women do and what confident men find attractive or reassuring.
